Job Details

RM Recruit are working with a small Birmingham based Academy Trust to recruit a Head of Finance for their management team. Taking responsibility for the strategic leadership and management of all Trust finances this role will see you provide high quality financial advice and guidance to business managers, budget holders and the Senior Leadership Team.

Your remit will include:

* Preparation and implementation of financial forecasts, business plans, reports and returns to ensure the strategic development and long term budget sustainability of the Academy

* Update, monitor and maintain the Academy's financial procedures ensuring staff compliance with set policies and procedures

* Conduct reviews and evaluations of cost reduction opportunities and regularly monitor contracts and service level agreements to ensure value for money

* Ensure that the finance systems reflect the latest accurate position and month-end close management reports are made in a timely and accurate manner

* Development and delivery of the 3 year financial plan taking into account EFSA guidelines

* Preparation of the annual budgets in accordance with the requirements of the Principal, Governing Body and the Trust

* Coordination of the external and internal audit teams, ensuring that all work is undertaken in order to meet Governance and statutory requirements

* Monthly management accounts

* Ensure the Trust remains compliant with VAT requirements

In addition to your finance remit, you will have general involvement in the overall management of the Trust. This will include Estates, Human Resources and Health and Safety. Ideally we are seeking operational finance professionals who are qualified and with School/Academy sector experience. Part time hours will be a consideration
