About Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) London

Sponsors for Educational Opportunity London (SEO London) is charity that provides access, training and mentoring for outstanding candidates from under-represented communities in leading industries and corporations.

SEO London Corporate Law Programme

SEO London Corporate Law Programmes seek to identify outstanding candidates from Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME) or social mobility qualifying backgrounds, for sponsor firms' first year schemes, vacation schemes and training contracts.

We support law and non-law undergraduates in all years of study, graduates and career changers. We provide candidates with extensive training, mentoring and networking opportunities, offering significant exposure to the industry.

SEO London is also the delivery partner for City Solicitors Horizons (CSH), an exclusively social mobility focused initiative. This aims to improve the chances of undergraduates from disadvantaged backgrounds in accessing the legal profession.

The team is looking for individuals that can contribute strong corporate law and/or graduate recruitment knowledge and bring fresh insights to the programme. Candidate profile

We are looking for a personable candidate with 2 or more years of experience in a recruitment setting. You will have the opportunity to put forward and implement your own ideas and you should be keen to take initiative and be enthusiastic and motivated.

Candidates must have an interest in and in-depth knowledge of the commercial legal industry. In addition, we ask for a genuine passion for charity work, diversity and social mobility. This is a fantastic role which offers candidates responsibility and professional development

Qualifications

University degree (any discipline)

Experience

One or more of the following:

2+ years' experience in a recruitment/talent or learning and development capacity.
1+ year of CSR/D&I experience
Third sector knowledge or experience (pro bono/volunteering considered)

Main Duties & Responsibilities

The Programme Co-ordinator works closely with the team to deliver and develop the Corporate Law Programme and City Solicitors Horizons (CSH). The role includes the following duties and responsibilities:

Lead contact for City Solicitors Horizons (CSH) candidate communications
Tracking CSH candidate information including statistics
Organising mentor/mentee information and allocations for CSH
Co-ordinating work experience for CSH candidates
Business Development Activities
Pitching to potential sponsor firms
Screening, assessing and training the Corporate Law class
Corporate Law event logistics support and supervision
Ad-hoc projects - entrepreneurship encouraged

Flexibility

In order to deliver the SEO London Corporate Law Programme effectively, a degree of flexibility is needed, and the post holder may be required to perform work not specifically referred to above. Such duties will, however, fall within the scope of the role.

The job description will be subject to periodic review with the post holder to ensure it accurately reflects the duties of the role.
