We provide flexible and tailored support and advice to a range of adults (young and old) and families in Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes. Our support covers housing, homelessness, refugee resettlement, isolation, money management, mental health, reducing offending and drug and alcohol misuse.
About the role
Connection Support requires a new Head of Finance to meet the demands of our growing finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for an established finance professional to continue building the finance strategy and finance team within an expanding, values-based organisation. The role would suit a qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) with 3+ years' experience in a responsible/senior finance role, ideally within the not-for-profit sector.

Key features of the role
The Head of Finance will be responsible for developing and delivering on the organisation's finance strategy in liaison with the CEO and the board's Finance Sub Committee. Including:
Review and development of the Finance Strategy and delivery plan for the organisation.
Drive the annual budget and quarterly reforecasting/alongside the CEO and relevant senior managers.
The Head of Finance will be a member of the Senior Management Team, contributing to the overall leadership and direction of the charity. Including:
Attending and contributing to Senior Management Team meetings and Business Services (Finance/HR/Systems) meetings.
Assist in costings for tendering and new projects, including risk analysis.
The Head of Finance will be responsible for leading the Finance team, ensuring good governance and efficient and accurate working practices. Including:
Line management of finance team including directing workflow, support, supervision and appraisal of all direct reports.
Managing a variety of income streams ranging from donations, restricted funds, local authority and government contracts, and housing income including Housing Benefit.
What you'll need
The successful candidate will be/have:
3+ years' experience in a responsible finance role.
Experience of using of accountancy software packages, ideally Xero. Payroll systems, ideally Sage. And Microsoft Excel.
Ability to explain financial processes to those with little financial knowledge
Able to hold multiple priorities in mind and delegate workflow to direct reports.
