£40,000-£45,000 Plus Bonus

Excellent opportunity for a qualified Tax Manager to join this well -established small Tax firm who specialise in Hedge Funds and Private Equities situated in Belfast Ireland.
You will work in a Team of 5 specialising in Tax.
This role will be working 3 or 4 days in the office and 1 or 2 days from home.

" Manage a portfolio of clients (largely in the asset management sector) to ensure all business tax requirements are met, from annual tax compliance needs (for Ltd companies and LLPs), but also managing any other needs such as advisory queries, share scheme returns, VAT (detailed VAT knowledge not required), etc.
" Support more junior team members
" Play an effective part within the tax team (e.g. chairing tax team meetings) and also the wider accounting and regulatory practice

Tax technical work
" General Corporation Tax work, but also areas such as Limited Liability Partnerships, Close Companies, Offshore Funds, the Disguised Investment Management Fee rules, and other aspects of asset management tax.
" Review and/or preparation of annual tax returns and computations for clients (CT600 or SA800), as prepared by more junior members of the tax team.
" Review and/or preparation of some year-end tax provisioning calculations
" Review and/or preparation and submission of direct and indirect tax registrations
" Identify further client tax needs and offer any necessary assistance.
" Researching tax issues and new legislation in response to questions raised by clients and providing verbal and/or written advice (subject to review by the Tax Manager and Head of Corporate Tax)
" Keeping up to date with changes in tax legislation and sharing knowledge by reading tax literature and attending CPD courses and presenting to the team new tax topics.

Client Management:
" Client servicing
o Monitoring timeliness of deliverables
o Quality control of client deliverables
o Build ongoing relationship with existing client portfolio.
" Input to allocation of new clients/work, as required, including accompanying Head of Corporate Tax to meet new clients.
" Responsible for billing and client profitability including agreement of fees with clients.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

" Qualified ACA, ACCA or equivalent, or possibly a qualified CTA (or both).
" Some accountancy background is preferred as opposed to a "pure CIOT" candidate.
" Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
" Highly numerate
" Good attention to detail and accuracy of work
" Ability to deal with and process large amounts of data.
" Keen to research new tax matters.
" Knowledge of relevant software package (Alphatax) is preferable.
" Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks / clients effectively.
" Self-starter and able to work alone.
" Demonstrates initiative and a 'can do' attitude.
" Be positive and want to work as part of a growing team.
" Be willing to ask questions where there may be a gap in knowledge.
