Tech Lead / Lead Engineer - Microsoft .NET Framework, Microsoft Technology stack, ASP.NET, .Net Core / dot net core

Our software development team is the engine room of our business, providing bespoke systems that give us our competitive advantage in a dynamic and fast paced marketplace. You will work across all of our current technology platforms including our bespoke back-office system, online trading platform and a new dynamic document management system

The role is based around a Microsoft Technology stack. Working in an agile development team you will participate in all activities of software delivery, from requirement capture to refinement and estimation, through design, build, quality assurance, deployment to operational run state. From day one you'll be exposed to a wide range of technologies and can work in a small, dynamic and hugely ambitious team.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

- Development of web applications and services
- Maintenance and improvement of existing platforms
- Creation and maintenance of technical documentation
- Contribution to story refinement and estimation
- Code reviews or other developers from yours and other teams
- Mentoring and coaching of less experienced team members
- Contribution to software designs based on requirement and technical analysis.
- Active contribution to discussions regarding the design of new solutions to business requirements
- You will be working closely with other developers, QA technicians and Product Owners.

Skills & Ability Skills (things you should know)

- Working knowledge of the Microsoft .NET Framework (including standard and core)
- ASP.NET, .Net Core / dot net core
- Microsoft SQL Server services (database, integration services & reporting services)
- T-SQL including stored procedures (essential)
- Database tuning (bonus)
- Design patterns (factory, adapter, chain of responsibility, etc.)
- Understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD)
- Knowledge of Behaviour Driven Design (BDD)
- A working understanding of Web API, specifically RESTful APIs (GraphQL and gRPC would be a benefit)
- Any front-end development knowledge is a bonus (Angular 4+, HTML, CSS and pre-processors, etc.)
- Object Relational Mappers (ORMs) such as Entity Framework
- An understanding of Domain Driven Design
