We are currently to be recruiting for a well know company in the Newport area who are looking for a Junior Software Developer. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to gain experience within this field.
This is 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday with a salary of £22,000 per annum.
The Software Development Team is responsible for building the next generation of applications, content and services using various software development frameworks. The role is mainly hands-on programming but involves supporting and managing the day-to-day applications of the Case management Systems and other key software applications to ensure users are able to process relevant information and reports as needed.
Liaising with both technical and non-technical professionals to help develop up to date applications for both internal and external clients.
Help maintain appropriate Software Development Methodologies.
Working within an AGILE environment.
Assist with the integration of Practice Management Software with intermediary systems built on different platforms.
Assist in producing and implementing test plans for both new and modified systems (TDD)
Assist in the development of next generation applications, content and services, utilised both from a business and clientele perspective, including Microsoft .NET framework (Asp.net WebApi/MVC, WPF), Microsoft SQL Server.
Assisting with the maintenance of the mobile applications within both iOS and Android operating systems.
Ensure efficient delivery of all software and systems for internal and external use.
Support the development team in maintaining all areas of software, including the software development roadmap and system architecture.
Under the guidance of more senior developers, make amendments and improvements to existing workflows and systems.
Ensure that design is consistent with agreed standards and practice in line with the Firm's guidelines.
Working with the Software Development team to ensure all products meet the specification and required functionality.
Assist the development team in organising and delivering project plans on time and to budget
Effectively liaise with third party contractors where applicableThe Individual
Proven ability in the development and maintenance of software systems as a developer
Wide-ranging experience of IT software related project management and their implementation.
Maintain absolute data confidentiality at all times in accordance with prevailing regulations and cyber security
A professional 'can do' approach to project work with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Self-motivated and tenacious with the ability to use initiative
Able to work flexibly when required to do so in order to meet deadlines
Remain up to date with changing technologiesA good communicator, with a 'team' approach to managing workloads
