You will be joining the Thames Water WFM programme to support the rollout of the new Android app to c. 1000 engineers.
As the Mobile Tech Support engineer, you will be covering the engineer drop-in sessions in and around London. All the site visits will be conducted in a Covid-safe manner.
Your duties will include:
Install the WFM Field Service Android App and associated Camera & GIS Apps for the field engineers.
Perform settings on their Android device, such as location permissions, camera permissions etc. to ensure that the android apps work properly
Assist engineers with the first time log-in.
Give them the overview of the apps and test apps are working okay before sending the blockage engineers off
Troubleshooting App or Log-in issues when engineers drop-in for help
Create a simple how-to guide for common issues and questions to help field managers and blockage engineers self-serve over time
Help test the new releases on the app in real life condition, i.e. driving in to low coverage areas around the depots and noting the observations.Your shift is likely to start at either 6am or 2pm weekdays and will involve driving to the operational depots in and around London and Thames Valley. Exact shift timings will be mutually agreed with you and your manager. We will ensure that shift timings are not changed too often. You will be visiting 2-3 different depots during the course of a work week. The schedule will be agreed with your manager and will be based on our rollout plans.
This is a contract position initially for 3 months, and falls inside IR35.
Skills & Experience Required:
Good experience working with Android phones and familiar with different versions and settings.
Helpdesk (remote or on-site) experience will be useful
IT Troubleshooting experience
Good communication skills and patience when dealing with users who are not IT savvy and explaining them how to do things in simple terms.
Full valid driving license and no hesitation in visiting different sites dotted around London and Thames Valley on different days
