About the role:
The primary function of the Finance department is to control revenues, expenditures, assets & liabilities to achieve transparency and accountability, safeguard the assets through adherence to sound financial management practices and procedures, and to provide management with the financial analysis needed to help control the business whilst ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

The Banking Analyst is responsible for providing an efficient and timely banking service to stores and internal customers alongside the European Banking Manager.

The core areas of responsibility are:

Developing and maintaining a thorough working knowledge of all aspects of banking in the Central Office
Maintenance of Bank Reconciliation package to post and reconcile all Bank Accounts
Make inland and overseas payments using the Bank electronic software
Take incoming calls from Stores regarding banking queries and resolve any issues raised

The Banking Analyst must ensure all bank accounts are assigned to item reconciliation daily. They must also ensure daily reporting of lodgement queries to loss prevention and prompt payment processing.


Use of & maintenance of Bank Reconciliation package to post and reconcile all Bank Accounts
Reporting of potential cash losses to Loss Prevention
Journal entries
Maintain schedule of bank Giro credit amendments as advised by email from bank
Transfer funds as required between bank accounts
Reconcile store floats to General Ledger at month end
Produce various month end reconciliations as required
Control and maintain petty cash function (sterling, Euro and US$) with periodic reconciliations
Download all statements as required using the bank electronic software
Make inland and overseas payments using the bank electronic software
Deal with credit card chargeback letters
Bank Guarantees - collate documentation and process payments etc as required
Ordering of Bank Giro Credit books for stores
Facilitate in New Store Openings i.e. Raising payments as specified in the lease agreement, arranging the delivery of PDQ machine and organizing payment of store floats
Maintain supplier files in Oracle when required
Cover reconciliation of other ledgers when required
Take incoming calls from stores regarding banking queries and resolve any issues raised
Liaise with banks when required
Contact stores as and when required
Visit stores as and when requiredAssist the European Banking Manager as necessary
Provide support if required to other members of the Banking department
Develop and promote the Company's culture, vision and values within the team
Build constructive working relationships Build and maintain internal and external customer satisfaction
Maintain a strong customer service focus
Preserve good communication links with all Stores and external Banks
About you:


Strong administration skills
Good numeric / mathematical skills
Excellent Excel and general Microsoft Office skills
Good Communication skills
Finance graduate or banking experienceKnowledge of other European languages
A to C grade GCSEs Mathematics and English (or equivalent)Desireable

Started studying for AAT / CIMA or willing to study towards a relevant professional qualification
