Reporting to the Head of Production the Production Engineer will be an enthusiastic, organised and detail-oriented individual to join our clients production team.
The Production Engineer would be involved in managing shipments, production planning, and supporting our overseas manufacturing facility. As the successful Production Engineer you will need to have technical experience in a similar role, with a background in business or engineering.
A good degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Science or Business Management
Six Sigma qualified is preferable
Suitable experience of high-volume electronic product manufacture using overseas suppliers
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desire to develop a career in manufacturing and supply chain
Enthusiastic and organised with a strong eye for attention to detail
Microsoft Office proficient, particularly MS Excel
Import/Export experience is desirable Key responsibilities include:
Working with our clients overseas CEM(s) to design and apply production line efficiencies and optimisation
Automation of our clients overseas production line
New Product Introduction team to put next generation product into high volume production
Bill of materials and configuration control
Mechanical and tooling design work to feed to DFM. Critical to quality part definitions and assessments for reliability
Programming of samples and different types of certificates for all products using production tools
Update via OTA of products for commercial for customer samples and customer setup
Firmware testing for release prior to going to the factory
Quality and Control plans for each product to ensure repeatability of manufacture
Supporting the ISO9001 and ISO14001 business processes
Maturing the production process and process control such as FMEA, PPAP and APQP
Lead auditor for procurement from suppliers.
ISO external supplier audits of key suppliers
Implement production continuous improvement processes including requirement imposed on the business by customers including but not limited to monitoring reject rates, rework, vendor performance and on time delivery
