International Tax Manager

Based in London within a thriving European Law practice that services clients around the world. The firm deals with complex corporate transactions and legal disputes offering unparalleled U.S. and English law capabilities, to help their clients achieve their commercial goals.

This is a newly created International Tax Manager position, created due to expansion. The role reports into the Tax Director who is based in the U.S. As the Tax Manager you will be responsible for overseeing Tax matters for the London, Hong Kong and Brussels offices.

Job Description

  • Prepare, review and maintain documentation for the Firm's tax filings, including the reporting of U.K. and international operations and partnerships
  • Perform research of relevant tax laws, regulations and rulings; maintain tax compliance calendar and various control schedules to ensure all tax filings are prepared and filed
  • Maintain necessary schedules to support the distribution and Partner receivable accounts in the general ledger
  • Participate and assist with tax audits
  • Review recordkeeping for the Firm's investments in the London, Brussels and Hong Kong offices
  • Prepare tax provisions and tax account reconciliations
  • Research and report on trends and developments concerning complex domestic and international tax issues
  • Attend and participate in managerial meetings and proactively communicate reporting updates, new technologies and trends to management
  • Liaise with the wider finance team who are based in the London office

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Relevant years public accounting experience gained in a large professional services organisation
  • Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of UK tax laws, accounting and tax regulations, related applications and concepts with an emphasis on Partnerships
  • Familiarity with international tax aspects of a professional services organization
  • Ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing
  • Strong customer service and relationship building skills
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
