We are seeking a Project Engineer for this exciting opportunity in a Company that operates within the UK Gas Distribution Industry. The Company has an outstanding reputation in the industry working with data and pressure control products that are used extensively across the UK gas distribution network.

Project Engineer - Role overview

* The engineer will be fully competent working on LP/MP/IP pressure tiers

* Experience working on gas governor installations is essential

* Able to engineer solutions on site and focus on first time fix

* Able to carry out functional checks, full maintenance and safety device inspection as well as installation work

* Able to interpret processes, procedures and technical documentation

* Able to work on low voltage electrical and solar powered systems

* The role is a mixture of (on average) one day per week home-based working and the rest of the week providing support to clients

* Managing and interpreting client requirements

* Travelling to visit clients

The gas distribution network (GDN) throughout the British Isles is owned and operated by four gas companies - Cadent, Northern Gas Networks (NGN), Scottish Gas Networks (SGN) and Wales & West Utilities (WWU). The successful candidate will be providing technical expertise, experience and work within a regional team of engineers to deliver a first-class service to the relevant gas company which is dependent on your location. As a result, your home location is very flexible. For example, candidates living in the Midlands would predominantly be working within Cadent whilst a candidate living in Reading would be working within SGN (South) and perhaps WWU.

Project Engineer - Candidate requirements


* You must be able to travel frequently perhaps spending 2-3 days per week away from home

* A full UK driving licence

Desirable Experience

* Working with or within large GDN's (Cadent/WWU/SGN/NGN)

* Experience with large UIP (Last Mile, Energy Assets, GTC)

* Pressure Control Hardware & Pressure Monitoring Hardware

* Relevant Pressure Control Software and setup packages

Desirable Qualifications

* NVQ Level 3 - Pressure Control or equivalent

* IOSH, NEBOSH or experience with QHSE systems


* SCO 1/2/3/4/5

* CCSNG HSE Passport or equivalent

* Utility Gas Shea

* Compex Exf+ (Full COMPEX desirable EX01/2/3/4)

* An Electrical qualification (18th edition, ONC etc)

* Swagelok pipe fitting course or relevant experience

* NRSWA 2 Streetworks & First Aid at work

Project Engineer - Benefits Package

* A starting salary of up to £55,000pa

* An achievable annual bonus in the region of 10% related to performance
