Working in the procurement team and working very closely with our supply planning/manufacturing/marketing functions your role is in the strategic development of all packaging categories exploring new suppliers whilst optimising existing supplier relationships and materials. You will frequently represent purchasing in new product development teams where you will be the packaging specialist in these projects.
Based near Droitwich you will have an overall responsibility for supplier performance (delivery, quality & cost) for the relevant packaging categories. You will liaise closely with other packaging buyers across the group bringing in new ideas and working together on our sustainability targets
Develop concrete category strategies that include, the purchase of printed materials, boxes and other sundry Items that enables future business growth
Develop and deliver new and exciting ideas that can help springboard your category
Be our purchasing packaging go to person at our UK site, driving packaging reductions and bringing new packaging initiatives into the business.
To help support UK Raw Materials Team to achieve overall targets
Be responsible for choosing suppliers in line with business inventory & cost targets
Implement cost improvement projects and current capital projects for product categories through strategic thinking and processes
Supporting Marketing and Sales in New Product Development projects
Continually review the overall "value" offered by existing suppliers and ensure that the Company's procurement strategy remains globally competitive
Develop and maintain strong strategic relationships with new & existing suppliers to ensure competitive, reliable, and sustainable sources of supply.
Research vendors and develop new and alternative sources of supply. Tender product groups, negotiate contractual trading terms and service level agreements negotiating price changes with vendors, negotiating revised terms and special arrangements with vendors
Responsible for regular performance evaluation meetings with suppliers and key stakeholder's, taking corrective action as required.
