Job Details

We are looking for an experienced Application Support Analyst to join our expanding team supporting our software solutions for over 100 customers. This is an exciting opportunity working with a mix of on-premise, private cloud and public cloud-based systems. More than just a DBA, you will be installing new software developed by us, applying updates to existing installations and performing upgrades to the various supporting software technologies.

You must be UK-based due to the security requirements of our customers.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

*

Apply our software updates to customer non-production and production systems.

*

Perform related software technology upgrades including Oracle Database, Apache Tomcat, Apache Web Server, and Jasper Reports Server.

*

Perform installations of new software developed by our company.

*

Troubleshoot issues relating to software installation and upgrades.

*

Review daily monitoring metrics to proactively respond to potential issues such as database performance, filesystem space and backup issues.

*

Perform scripted backup and restore tasks.

*

Communicate with our customers in a professional and solution-driven manner.

*

Work as a team to troubleshoot problems and share workloads.

Essential skills/experience:

*

Oracle Database management including upgrades (single instance only, not CDB or RAC databases).

*

Installing and maintaining software on Solaris, Linux or MS Windows operating systems.

*

Working directly with customers via video conference, telephone and email communication
