Because of continued demand of their products, you have the opportunity to apply for a Manual Machinist role with one of the regions highest regarded manufacturing businesses. This role will suit an experienced Manual Machinist who enjoys working in a heavy engineering/manufacturing environment.

This employer is based in York and is easily commutable from Leeds, Castleford, Pontefract, Selby, Wetherby, Harrogate, Knaresborough and Ripon.

Key Responsibilities of the Manual Machinist:

Operation of large manual machine tools including Horizontal & Vertical Borers, Lathes, Mills and Drills
Working directly from engineering drawings and/or written instructions to accurately manufacture or refurbish components
Inspecting completed parts using various mechanical instruments (verniers & micrometres) and ensuring documentation is completed appropriate to findings

The Manual Machinist will have:

Formal qualifications within Mechanical Engineering, Machining or similar (Apprenticeship, HNC, HND, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent)
A high level of experience operating manual machine tools of varying sizes, including Lathes, Vertical Borers, Horizonal Borers, Radial Drills and Millers
Previous experience working within a heavy engineering or manufacturing environment

Working Hours of the Manual Machinist:

Regular day shifts with the flexibility to work evenings should the candidate wish to do so

Monday to Thursday - 07:00 to 15:00
Friday - 07:00 to 12:30

Basic Package of the Manual Machinist:

Renumeration: Up to £28,860 depending on experience & abilities
Holiday Entitlement: 33 Days per annum (25 days + public holidays)
