Job Title: Commercial Transition Manager

Location: Chertsey

A new opportunity for a Commercial Manager role has arisen in Crest Nicholson's central Commercial team. Initially the role will involve working within the COINS SureStart project team to implement the new system across all Crest Nicholson operational regions. The role will focus on user training and supporting regions to load initial data into the system, working closely with regional Surveyors and Buyers to oversee the implementation of Commercial business processes using COINS SureStart.

Post roll-out of the new system next year, the role will be part of the central Commercial team with a main focus on working with all regions to improve cost management and other business processes by supporting their implementation by exploiting the benefits of the new system.

Candidates must have good surveying experience within a major housebuilder and preferably will have used the COINS system in doing so. During the initial roll-out phase, candidates will be expected to travel to regional locations in the Midlands and South of England, with some overnight stays necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead all operational activities to transition from the current systems and spreadsheets to the new system

* Configure the new system to implement the business processes as closely as possible and where this cannot be achieved implement alternatives that are acceptable for the business and as agreed with Business Leads

* Definition of a standard set of templates and documentation to support consistency and expediency of data migration

* Build an understanding of current processes used by each division and where variances occur factor in changes necessary to support the division's migration e.g. medium/high-rise construction, non-traditional construction, JV sites etc

* Train Super Users on the data migration processes (including data cleansing) and oversee the correct implementation, providing support and guidance where appropriate

* Support the development of a range of training materials, such as user help guides, online documentation etc for end users

* Support the Project Manager in the development of the testing programme and develop a suite of tests, as appropriate, to be used for user acceptance

* Undertake all data reconciliations for the migrated data sets that are defined for their functional area

* Provide second line support during transition for all Super Users in their functional area

* Provide regular reports to the project team on progress and undertake any other tasks as the project needs

Essential Qualifications/Attributes

* Surveying related degree

* Broad knowledge of operational surveying function in a housebuilding context

* Excellent Excel skills and working/developing commercial (inc. valuations) reporting tasks

* Customer focused with an ability to build effective internal relationships with business and project staff to build buy-in and achieve task deadlines

* Focus on meeting tight deadlines, and will 'go the extra mile' to ensure that compromises are not taken to achieve them

* Experience of training staff on new systems, processes and procedures

* Methodical with a strong attention to detail and a passion for accuracy

* Ability to work on own initiative

* Enthusiastic and good team player

* Be prepared to travel to all Crest office locations and spend periods away as and when appropriate

Desirable

Broad knowledge of Crest's surveying and buying financial processes

Knowledge of Crest's land, customer service and sales processes

Good understanding of data migration processes with experience of implementing new or changing commercial systems
