Who we are:
We’re a fast growing company bringing a revolutionary new spectrometer to market and are looking for a practically minded engineer to contribute to the design and manufacturing support effort. You’ll have a good first degree in Engineering, Physics or a related field, have demonstrable practical experience and be keen to take on plenty of variety! This role is open to recent graduates, as well as seasoned engineers.
You'll be joining the team which performs product development and manufacturing support, working closely with everyone throughout the company. We're constantly improving the performance of our IRmadillo spectrometer and improving our manufacturing methods. You'll experience cutting edge agile management methods and learn about lean and 6-sigma manufacturing techniques.
The teamwork includes (but is not limited to):
+ Supporting the Production department by developing methods and processes
+ Liaising with suppliers
+ Supporting the Sales team
+ Involvement in planning deliveries to customers
+ Investigating and resolving customer support tickets
+ Testing software, firmware and electronics
+ Designing and improving the product: mechanical design, optics
+ Troubleshooting everything you can think of
The ideal candidate will have the following profile, however since this is the real world, we expect you’ll only have some of these attributes:
+ Likes to take things apart to find out how they work
+ Happy to get stuck in to troubleshooting
+ Comfortable writing software code to make something happen e.g. Python for data analysis
+ Maybe you've done some electronics or software development
+ Enjoy genuine teamwork, helping others to get the team's work done together
+ Familiar with Solidworks CAD, or eager to learn
+ Enjoy international travel
If you can solve a problem, if you really want to help, and if you can write a nice covering letter, maybe you can be part of the A-team.
If you have any pre-application questions please contact us first quoting the job title & ref. Good luck, Team RR.
