Annex 21 Section 2 (i) Candidates who commence on band 6 will be required to successfully complete the appropriate qualification/s or training as outlined within the Annex 21 competency framework prior to progressing to band 7.

Candidates who meet the full requirements of the person specification for band 7 will commence payment at band 7 with no requirement to progress through the competency framework.

We are seeking to recruit a band 6/7 Upper GI Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our existing close knit team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wishes to improve and develop services for cancer patients, working in conjunction with the service and Lead Cancer nurse.
The post will incorporate the (Advanced) Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) role dimensions of expert clinical practice, education, leadership, management and research. You will be expected to implement Holistic Needs Assessments and work with the team to deliver all aspects of the personalised care agenda.
You will be required to work with clinical, operational, information and administrative staff across all levels of seniority within the acute Trust.
Working in partnership with our regional centres and specialist cancer providers you will manage these patients across the pathways of care.
You will act as a Key Worker for a clinical caseload, working to coordinate care and provide easy access and ongoing support for patients.
You will facilitate and support healthcare teams to implement evidence based practice, and will contribute to the development of the Upper GI cancer service.
