UI Designer DeveloperNorth West - Hybrid role - Warrington office and home based£40,000 - £60,000 plus bonus
We're working to recruit a User Interface Designer / Developer for an exciting software business who have just been awarded 2 large contracts with international Mobile Network Operators. Appointed to help them source a suitable Software Development Team, we're looking for candidates who have experience developing a user dashboard.
This role is a cross between a UI Developer and UX Designer in that it involves the design and also some development. This role is mainly remote, home-based but you will ideally be based in commuting distance of their Warrington office for occasional meetings.
This is an amazing opportunity for a specialist UI Designer / Developer to work with a growing and ambitious software business who have contracts with some of the world's leading mobile network companies. They are looking for candidates who can come in at a key point in their growth and develop their career as they grow. The Dashboard Developer will work (mainly remotely) as part of a team responsible for the complete product development lifecycle.
In this UI Designer / Developer role you will be responsible for the look and feel of the front end of this reporting software dashboard. This is about presenting the data they collect in the best way and is a role for someone who gets data and will like exploring in order to make decisions on how it is presented in the best way. Coding is involved but the design of the dashboard is key - dev experience is needed to communicate with the back end guys.
Details of the UI Designer / Developer role:-
- Their product already includes a simple reporting/dashboard tool and it looks dated and is slow. They're looking for someone to help them develop an entirely new tool (if necessary) and a way of presenting information to help mobile network operators (NMOs) understand their networks performance so they can take actions to improve service.
- Their Reporting/Dashboard Tool is the MNOs window to the information they compute from millions of small data (messages) received from SIM cards. Messages carry data that indicates the mobile phone user's experience of their service provider (Quality of Experience or QoE). The reporting tool presents Quality of Service (QoS) information.
- In the past they have used Sencha library functionality over Django to develop dashboards. They can do more of the same using a more current library or possibly Bootstrap or something entirely different. The person accepting this role will have significant say in how they implement UI in the future as well as developing the actual tool to report their data.
- They are adopting 'Big Data' components and a recent Data Scientist hire is adding Machine Learning to the data we collect. Experience here would be a benefit.
Work will be mainly home based but candidates will need to be in commuting distance of their Warrington based office. They work in Agile ways and have daily Scrums each day at 9am. The successful candidate needs to be based in the North-West and already have the right to work in the EU. You can expect interesting work, a very supportive organisation and team and many opportunities for on-going technical and personal development.
