ColdQuanta is leading the development of quantum technology in the areas of quantum computing, inertial sensing, RF sensing, to name a few of our cutting-edge areas of focus. Our quantum technology relies on a suite of uniquely integrated hardware and software and we're looking for an embedded software engineer to accelerate the development of our new products.

Primary ResponsibilitiesIn this role you will
  • Design and develop software (C & Python) to control sequencing and timing of hardware on the nanosecond timescale
  • Develop embedded firmware based on product requirements and specifications
  • Develop highly deterministic, reliable, and safe microcontroller code in C and Rust (Rust experience preferred, but not required for candidates with strong C backgrounds)
  • Develop and functionally validate HDL (proficiency in Verilog preferred, experience implementing systems with soft processors is a huge plus)
  • Develop higher-level test interfaces in Python
  • Debug, test, and optimize HW and SW designs on bench and in real-world conditions
  • Work closely to define and implement end-product production test systems
  • Maintain and improve embedded firmware of existing products
  • Develop and validate hardware interfaces working directly from schematic and PCB files (experience designing hardware interfaces is a huge plus)
  • Generate well-defined code documentation.


RequirementsRequired Skills and QualificationsWe're looking for a team member who has
  • Bachelor of Science or other equivalent degree
  • 3 to 5 years of related experience
  • Electronics knowledge that includes one or more of the following analog circuits, RF circuits, Power Management circuits, signals and systems, ADCs, DACs, optical, microcontrollers, DSP
  • Familiarity with performing circuit evaluation and characterization using bench test equipment including spectrum analysers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and logic analysers
  • Excellent working knowledge of C, Python, and / or Verilog.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to solve complex problems through design of appropriate experiments and analysis of complex data
  • Strong time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Can work on a team within multi-discipline environments
  • Capable of clear, accurate, and timely communication both written and verbal
