Job Details

Title: Linux Systems Engineer

Client: Award winning Financial Trading firm run by passionate Computer Scientists

Role: Contract - 6 month rolling

Rate: Up to £850/day

Location: London/Flexible working (stunning offices)

Role: (A full spec is available but key points below) -
  • Build and optimise next gen infrastructure to support the engineering teams
  • Help architect a resilient, multi-petabyte storage solution & build a new data centre
  • Automate anything and everything with Python & config tools
  • Innovate whilst bringing in new ideas


Essential Skills:
  • Genuine passion in Linux & Open-source
  • On-prem / Bare metal experience in a mission critical environment
  • Cloud experience in AWS, GCP or Azure but open to using 'the best tool for the job'
  • Strong storage experience (SAN, NAS, NetAPP, Vast etc.)
  • Strong configuration / automation experience (ideally Puppet or Docker)
  • Experienced in a DevOps environment
  • Some networking experience/troubleshooting
  • Ideally worked in a HPC research, low-level or ultra-low latency environment (not essential but nice to have)
  • A likeable personality with good people skills!
