About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Systems Manager to lead a growing team of experienced technical specialists at a period of significant digital transformation.

Reporting to the Head of IT Infrastructure, the IT Systems Manager will play a vital role in the design, implementation and operation of our hybrid cloud (managed data centres + Microsoft Azure) systems and services that are aligned to our digital strategy and standards.

Working across numerous areas, you'll develop collaborative relationships with our Architecture, Software Development, IT Security and Operations teams, playing a key role in the technical and service roadmaps that enable us to deliver excellent digital services that support client and line of business systems. More specifically, you'll implement and manage foundational Data Centre & Azure infrastructure products and solutions, working with teams across the department including software developers to enable them to deliver.

As this is a leadership role, you'll be the go to person for both day to day duties of the System Services/DevOps team and technologies. Additionally, you'll be responsible for helping to educate others in order to embed best practice technology adoption and operational excellence to drive a culture of high quality, continuous improvement whilst ensuring excellent service is delivered.

About You

We're looking for an enthusiastic leader with a passion for people and their wellbeing. You'll be able to motivate and encourage a dynamic team to be the best they can be in their professional development. (Ensuring our IT teams have the right opportunities and work well together is key to our success).

Having technical knowledge is great, but being able to utilise this knowledge to its fullest is essential. You'll have previous experience of working closely with colleagues within IT and across the business, in additional to having the ability to understand your audiences; framing problems and solutions for their understanding.

Talking of technical, you should possess the experience and knowledge that defines what an 'IT Systems Manager' is. You will have practitioner to expert levels of technical expertise for the infrastructure focused products within Microsoft Azure and wider ranging data centre technologies and solutions.

You'll be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders, including suppliers, and your discussions will be shaped by good understanding of commercial and operational impact.

Things change fast! You will be tenacious enough to keep going. We see failing fast and setbacks as learning opportunities, so we expect you to be able to embrace this to overcome challenges.

You will have significant experience working at technical level with a proven track record of leading and delivering on infrastructure related outcomes, including the ability to articulate this in a meaningful way to stakeholders.

Experience within the following technical discipline areas would be beneficial -- Infrastructure, Troubleshooting and Problem Solving, Team Dynamics and Collaboration, Systems Design, Operations and Testing, Cyber and Information Security and Software Development.
