Software Engineer - Functional Programming | Mission-driven Tech Firm | £85k+



Work with a leading technology company that is driving the UK energy market to reach net zero emissions by 2030. Heavily focused on delivering their industry leading technology products that will allow them to provide clean energy for millions of customers as part of their ambitious plan.

We are looking for functional programming enthusiasts with 3 to 6 years of experience to fill an exciting, fast paced and dynamic role. You will build out real time smart data products, taking ownership of the complete SDLC.

The Functional Programming Engineer will be working on:

  • Taking ownership of developing real time and smart data products.
  • Being responsible in creating your own environment, automation and architectural design.
  • Ensuring highly reactive response times and avoid bottlenecks in the system.
  • Using your initiative to work through the entire SDLC with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, AWS, GCP.


Technology stack: Scala, cats, FS2, Shapeless, TypeLevel, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker



Don't worry if you don't have every technology listed, the organisation promotes a continual learning environment and commonly works with; Kotlin, Haskell, Clojure, Node.js and Elixir.

The salary is up to £85 000 + bonus and a full benefits package with an education + conference budget.
