Our Company

We are 6 businesses (Ellis Whittam, Law at Work, ESP HR, YoumanageHR, HR Services Partnership and Cater Leydon Millard), all of whom have been recently acquired by Marlowe Plc. All these businesses have strong reputations, proving high quality professional advice and/or on-line platforms to guide UK employers with the full range of Employment Law, HR and Health and Safety matters.

Over the summer and autumn of 2021, we will be combining these businesses in a new legal entity and corporate brand with one vision. With a well-resourced Project Office in place, we will be consolidating systems and processes and establishing the platform and organisation for growth. As part of this, we are investing heavily not only into technology and data but into recruitment.

The Role

Following the acquisition, we continue to invest heavily in technology and digital transformation across CRM, service delivery and SaaS categories. Reflecting the profile and scale of this digital transformation programme, we're are recruiting for an experienced Software Tester to strengthen the in-house team.

We are looking for a Software/QA Tester to assess software quality through manual and automated testing. You will be responsible for finding and reporting bugs and glitches. In this role, you should have a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills. If you are also competent in executing test cases and are passionate about quality, we'd like to meet you.

Ultimately, you will ensure that our products, applications and systems work correctly.

Core duties and responsibilities

  • Review and analyse system specifications
  • Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyse results
  • Create logs to document testing phases and defects
  • Report bugs and errors to development teams
  • Help troubleshoot issues
  • Analysing user stories and/use cases/requirements for validity and feasibility
  • Collaborate closely with other team members and departments to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Execute all levels of testing (System, Integration, and Regression)
  • Design and develop automation scripts when needed
  • Detect and track software defects and inconsistencies
  • Provide support and documentation

The Candidate


  • Experience as a Software Tester / QA Tester or similar role
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing is desirable but not essential
  • Working knowledge of test management software and SQL
  • Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude
  • Experience with Azure
  • Ability to document and troubleshoot errors

A basic salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum.


  • 25 days annual leave increasing by 1 day with each full year's service up to 30 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays
