Role: QA Manager

Location: London based but will travel across UK

Salary: £65K

Overview:

You will direct and manage the full project-life cycle. You will be responsible for the delivery of the defined work packages to the client, provide effective management to teams and give guidance to key business users.

Responsibilities:
  • Is accountable for planning, deploying and managing the testing effort for multiple projects/programs simultaneously.
  • Coordinates with Onshore Leads for facilitating project testing effort across multiple applications.
  • Understands and communicates the scope of testing required to certify projects and desired business capabilities.
  • Participates in Business Requirements and Detailed Design Sessions.
  • Has a thorough understanding of testing process and best practices.
  • Defines the overall project test strategy and works with the assigned team(s) to execute.
  • Manage and mentor a distributed team consisting of permanent and supplier test resources.
  • Support multiple Scrum and Waterfall delivery teams with estimation, planning and strategy for testing First Data projects and programmes
  • Manage all QA phases for the project, including Test Planning, Test Design, Test Execution and Test Closure on the programme.
  • Ensure QA best practices across project delivery, adhering to all quality best practices as laid out within the QEA GBS organization
  • Organize and lead initiatives to improve test processes, extend the use of tools / frameworks (where appropriate) and develop team members to improve efficiency.
  • Perform (project-level) test lead duties when needed including and not limited to stakeholder discussions, defect management and status reporting.
  • Own activities such as defect triaging from multiple projects if need be and ensuring test packs(regression, smoke) are updated to include new functionality.
  • Co-ordinate the request and use of test environments for systems across the estate, ensuring best practices for data quality, data consistency and supporting needs of all projects across the programme.
  • Ensures adherence to change management for any testing related scope change
  • Manages and accountable for the project/program testing budget, ensuring plan vs actuals are monitored and reported on a frequent basis.
  • Works closely with the Project/Program Manager on risk and issue mitigation and management.
  • Ensures enforcement/adherence to Quality Stage Gates, reviewing acceptance criteria for accuracy, clarity and completeness.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or equivalent work experience
  • ISTQB Advanced advantageous
  • Additional course or certification in Quality Assurance
  • Project Management qualification

Experience:
  • You will have prior experience in Financial Services / Cards and payments
  • Excellent client-facing skills

  • Team work and emotional intelligence
  • Good self-management - continuous performance is both an objective and a mind-set

  • Experience of introducing new concepts or strategies that significantly improve or revise the way business is done through to implementation.
  • Minimum experience of 12-15 years in Software Testing & Quality Assurance
