We are looking for kind and gentle CAREGiver's to join an already established, but supportive, team who support our lovely client in her own home in a beautiful Somerset village.
Our client has 2 children who are very supportive and involved with their mother and the CAREGivers who support her.
Our client lives in her home which she shared with her husband for a number of years before he sadly passed away 4 years ago. Our client has a diagnosis of Dementia which affects her ability to remember things such as what time of day it is, when she needs to take her medications etc, It hasn't taken away her gentle and kind personality, she is just a little forgetful at time. She is a little wobbly when walking around so does use a frame to walk around with.
The CAREGivers help her with all aspects of her daily life, from light housekeeping, creating shopping lists, ordering and administrating her medications, meal preparation, help getting washed and dressed in the morning and of course ensuring her nails are freshly polished with the colour of her choosing!
Our client is a very gentle person who loves to converse with her CAREGivers. She is a sun addict and loves nothing more than sitting outside or in her sun room topping up her vitamin D levels or watching the birds. She enjoys baking cakes with the CAREGivers and loves to watch football and Downton Abbey. There is always a puzzle being completed at the dining room table and she is always open to new puzzles to complete.
Due to her reduced mobility she lives downstairs in her home, which has spectacular views over the Somerset countryside with a beautiful view or the countryside from her bedroom.
We support our client for 13 hours a day from 7am to 8pm at night when her night carers arrive.
The days are split into 2 visits: 7am-2pm and 2pm-8pm.
We have a 2 week rota in place for this client and have the following regular visits available with her:
Monday's 2pm-8pm (£60)
All day Thursdays 7am-2pm (£70) & 2pm-8pm (£60)
Friday's 2pm-8pm (£60)
Saturday 7am-2pm (£77)
There will be additional visits to cover within the team due to holidays.
Pay is £10 per hour Monday-Friday
Pay is £11 per hour Saturday and SundayQualifications
As a CAREGiver a willingness to learn along with great communications skills are a must. Patience, warmth and an empathetic nature with the ability to cope under pressure is beneficial. In return you will be fully supported by our experienced team 24/7 as an essential member of Home Instead Yeovil, Sherborne and Bridport.
- Due to the requirements of traveling across franchise areas to visit clients in their own homes and accompanying clients to appointments/social activities (when Covid allows) CAREGivers should hold a full UK driving licence and have access to their own vehicle.
