Job Details

Over the last three years, CommsAudit has successfully developed a range of RF Monitoring and Direction-Finding systems and sub-systems and is well positioned to grow market share through a number of strategic projects both through prime contractors and direct to end customers.

In order to sustainably grow market share, CommsAudit needs to strengthen its approach to producing reliable high-performance systems and sub-systems, and have identified that our test capabilities must be improved.

To support this, we would like to appoint a full-time Test Lead to plan and undertake the full lifecycle of testing activities on a given project or product development.

What you'll be doing

The role will consist of defining the testing and acceptance strategy for a project/product development, supporting Technical Leads with requirements management, co-ordinating the execution of test plans and performing hands-on tests throughout the project/product lifecycle, from sub-system (e.g. PCB) to system (e.g. FAT/SAT) level.

As well as responsibility for managing the Test team's workload (with two direct reports), the Test Lead will work closely with Project Managers, clients and external test facilities, and will regularly interact with design teams to offer product development and improvement advice.

What we're looking for

Some previous experience of this type of role in a Defence/Aerospace organisation is essential, including hands-on experience of testing RF products, particularly in the microwave band. You'll have a level of stakeholder management experience and will have interacted directly with technical customers before and will be an astute technical author.

Experience of test and acceptance applied to the Systems Engineering V-model, or CADMID acquisition cycle is desirable.

Experience of managing sub-contract test facilities is advantageous.

We place as much emphasis on the right attitude and personality as experience. This is a hands-on role requiring a proactive attitude, excellent communication and people leadership skills. The Test Lead will be pivotal in improving operating performance and helping to sustainably grow the company.
