What part can you play in making a difference?

As an experienced Cloud Engineer, you will build and maintain Utilita's cloud-hosted infrastructure.

You will resolve any issues with the cloud infrastructure so that our systems meet up-time availability targets and ensure that the platform is secure, scalable and fulfils requirements of the business.

Within the role you will also be responsible for the implementing and maintaining continuous integration/continuous build (CI/CD) pipelines so that builds and deployments are automated, maintaining infrastructure as code using appropriate tooling such as Terraform/Ansible and implementing appropriate monitoring and alerting for the platforms using Grafana, DataDog, CloudWatch etc.

This role will also involve collaborating with tech authors to create and maintain platform documentation.

What do we need from you?

You will be able to show an in-depth knowledge of cloud engineering principles and practices, especially in relation to AWS (although Azure an additional advantage).

You must have skills and experience in: Building and deploying containerised microservices using Docker, Kubernetes, etc., CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or CodeBuild, developing monitoring and alerting for cloud infrastructure using Grafana, DataDog, CloudWatch and similar tools as well as source code managed with tools such as BitBucket

You will also be able show knowledge of: Developing infrastructure as code using Terraform, etc. and traditional infrastructure (networking incl. subnets, routing, server management, VPNs, virtualisation, etc.).

A Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent professional qualification plus ideally 4 years' experience in a cloud engineering role.

Availability for out-of-hours support and upgrade work as required.
