The Workday Centre of Excellence (CoE) team are responsible for all Workday configuration and business processes globally within Centrica. We are recognised technical experts, constantly pushing the boundaries of what Workday can achieve, to meet (and exceed!) our business goals and priorities. We regularly adopt new Workday features to continue to improve and expand our Workday offering to Centrica.

The role would be suited to someone who can operate effectively in a fast paced, technical, and innovative environment.

Workday Configuration Analyst - a typical day might include the following:
  • Answer application or system-related questions where appropriate
  • Perform administrative or configuration tasks within Workday, including standard and master data changes
  • Implement Small Change requests, responsible for the design, construction and delivery of the Workday solution, including associated changes in related systems and informing other teams' processes
  • Responsible for supporting the analysis, design and delivery of the Workday solution, including creation of test scenarios, performing functional tests, support of users during testers and defect resolution
  • Support the Workday architects and functional managers with the delivery of Workday projects, participate in all phases of system and integration testing, as required, including creation of test scenarios, performing functional tests, support of users during testers and defect resolution
  • Develop and maintain design process documentation and adhere to team standards to satisfy audit requirements
  • Lead on resolving escalated queries within all functional area and related processes
  • Proactively identify and /or correct errors in business processes, employee data or system configuration
  • Promoting best practices, streamlining data processes, and increasing efficiencies
  • Test and load Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB) to facilitate bulk data changes
  • Ensure proper discipline in tracking our activity in our operational systems and planning tools
  • Recognising and prioritising payroll related issues for resolution

Your Skills and Qualifications should reflect our values and will include:
  • Proficient analytical and creative problem-solving skills evidenced by playing a significant role in projects or in a Workday/systems/process support environment
  • Proficient Excel, Word and PowerPoint (including VLOOKUP's, if functions, pivot table etc). Previous experience of validating and/or loading Workday EIBs would be beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail, comfortable working with large sets of data and being able to review data in a methodical way.
  • Previous experience of validating and/or loading Workday EIBs would be beneficial.
  • Desire to identify repetitive tasks and design/develop automation or improvements in processes. Experience with VBA advantageous
  • Evidence of collaboration and contribution to your previous work environments
  • Experience working on multiple concurrent projects, including project plan responsibilities
  • Able to self-manage confidently, prioritise conflicting deliverables (escalating where required), with good personal productivity and self-motivation
  • Experience of navigating and working within a complex matrix organisation
  • Passion for working with people and systems, and a strong interest in helping customers succeed
  • Interested in the bigger picture, appreciating potential downstream impacts on systems and processes over and above specific business requirement
  • A team player is a must, not just within the Workday Centre of Excellence team, but within the wider Global Business Services and other COEs within HR
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to summarize the work done in an articulate fashion via email or case notes
  • Able to present information logically, communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience of requirements gathering, configuration, testing and ongoing maintenance
  • Able to analyse large amounts of data to create understandable reports
  • Understanding of the changing landscape of HR technology and how it can be utilised to drive efficiency
  • Knowledge of HR operations, process and systems
  • Genuine desire to learn and take on new responsibilities

Education and Certifications
  • Workday HCM, Recruiting, Compensation, Benefits or Business Process Fundamentals (Desirable)
