The WaterAid Global International Affairs team plays a leadership role on global advocacy across the WaterAid Federation to steer the influencing agenda for key donors, international and multilateral institutions to achieve SDG 6. We deliver an ambitious agenda, grounded in national level change and impact.

As the UK Advocacy Team Lead, you will lead WaterAid's political influencing. You will work with policy experts to identify policy objectives as well as key advocacy and lobbying opportunities, provide strategic political insight and ensure systematic monitoring, analysis and dissemination of political intelligence. You will lead WaterAid's contact with ministers, and senior civil servants to identify and create opportunities to influence processes, as well as managing relationships with relevant external lobby and campaigning groups.

You will be a strategic thinker, with significant operational experience of structures, processes and trends in the UK political system, as well as a track record of achieving political change. You will have knowledge of international development, alongside experience of building relationships which lead to policy impact. An excellent communicator, you will be able to summarise and persuasively communicate complex information in written form to a range of target audiences.

This is a full time, permanent role.

Salary & Benefits

£49,440 to £52,015 dependent on experience with excellent benefits

Applications will close 23:59 on 11/07/2021. Availability for interview is required provisionally on 16th and 19th July 2021. This will be a two-stage interview process. Due to current office restrictions these will take place as video interviews.

Additional Information
WaterAid is currently located at Canary Wharf, London and this will be your location and contract base. Due to current restrictions on office capacity the majority of our staff are working from home. All aspects of this including how we are supporting homeworking and the office transition will be discussed at the interview stage with you.
