We are looking forward to welcoming a new Treasurer to our Board. You will be joining a highly committed team who are proud of the difference our service makes to the lives of our clients.
The Treasurer will maintain an overview of the organisation’s financial affairs in line with good practice and in accordance with the governing document and legal requirements. The Treasurer will ensure that effective and appropriate financial measures, controls and procedures are put in place and report to the Board of Trustees at regular intervals about the financial health of the organisation.
We are committed to bringing equity, diversity and inclusion into the heart of our services and how we operate. Increasing the diversity of our Board is an important step towards this goal. We would especially welcome applicants who are from Black, Asian or other minoritised ethnic groups, people with a disability, and young people.
We are looking for candidates that can demonstrate relevant experience in financial management, preferably with a recognised accounting qualification.
What’s in it for the volunteer?
Here is what some of our current trustees have to say:
What drives Jeremy in his role of trustee and acting treasurer is that the work of CAB makes a difference to the lives of the most vulnerable and poorest members of Barnet. He lives in the borough with his grown-up family.
Kimberley Ong is passionate about the Citizens Advice ethos of providing free, impartial advice that empowers people with the information needed to enable them to help themselves and is looking to apply her skillset towards making a direct impact and contribution to her local community where she lives with her husband and two young children.
