Salary: £48,897
Hours: 35 hours per week

Fixed Term Contract until 15/10/2021

About the school: St Augustine's is a Catholic secondary school of approximately 850 students situated in the west of the City of Edinburgh. Its catchment area encompasses five Catholic primary schools extending from South Queensferry in the north to Balerno in the south. However, as a result of parental choice, our current S1 contains students drawn from 31 primaries

St Augustine's stresses the importance of high levels of achievement for every student and there is a strong sense of community within the school. All staff of St Augustine's, teaching and non-teaching, are prepared to make a positive contribution to the school as a whole and to play their part as members of the St Augustine's community.

About the post: The Pupil Support Leader (PSL) will be part of a Management and Leadership team of a Pupil Support Faculty which consists of 3 PSLs and one SfLL, all of whom have some teaching commitments as well as their whole school leadership and management role. The successful applicant will take a joint lead role in managing the Pupil Support department with other PSLs and the Support for Learning Leader and will take joint responsibility for developing and delivering a personal and social education programme in school. They will be responsible for the support of a caseload of young people and to ensure all strategies are in place for them to flourish emotionally, mentally, physically and academically. The Pupil Support leader will be committed to maximising the progress of learners in every respect. Further details available upon request.

However, since this is a Roman Catholic school, appointees will require to be approved with regard to religious belief and character by the Church. Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education
