Our client is a boutique corporate finance advisory firm based in the north of England. It works with companies of all sizes and stages of development, from concept stage through to established publicly listed entities, providing services ranging from strategic advice, equity and debt fund raising, M&A and disposal advisory and investor relations.

The firm is looking for a corporate finance executive to work alongside the partners and other team members to provide the full suite of advisory services to its clients. This role will suit someone who is two to three years into their career and is looking for excellent exposure to a whole host of corporate finance transactions and who wants to work in a dynamic environment with the opportunity to learn from seasoned advisory professionals.

In particular, this role might interest someone who wishes to relocate and we are looking to base this role in Manchester or Newcastle but with a good degree of working and location flexibility.

Tasks and responsibilities
  • Assist in the execution of transactions
  • Support the running and project management of the transaction process
  • Create and review financial and valuation models
  • Draft and provide input to relevant transaction documents
  • Manage other professional relationships and ensure milestones delivered
  • Assist in the preparation of financial and strategic presentations for clients including marketing pitches
  • Contribute to team meetings and discussions including generating marketing & transaction ideas


The best candidate will have some experience of corporate transactions, strong project management skills, good communication and team skills and a strongly analytical mindset. In addition, candidates should have/be:
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience from a bank, boutique or accountancy practice
  • Knowledge of and an interest in corporate finance and the ability to apply their skills creatively to diverse client needs;
  • A minimum of a 2.1 degree or equivalent from a top university
  • Demonstrable drive and determination - a self-starter
  • Strong numerical, analytical and project management skills
  • High inter-personnel skills
  • A high level of attention to detail and the ability to develop and deliver effective and "error-free" analyses, client presentations and internal and external communications in a timely fashion
  • Relevant transaction experience and a sound understanding of deal process management
  • The ability to work independently and with minimal supervision as well as to act as a collaborative team member
  • A strong work ethic and good judgment in structuring and organising work, setting priorities and being flexible in responding to changing demands
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and self-aware with a demonstrable commitment to ongoing professional development
