Social Media and Community Manager - 12 months

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Social Media and Community Manager for this well established and well known company based in Stevenage. You will have an excellent hands-on understanding of social media marketing with experience of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube essential. LinkedIn and Pinterest. Ideally you will have come from an online retail brand.

Job Purpose

To optimise social media channels and Community to the business and marketing strategy and drive brand awareness and brand engagement. To build brand loyalty and identity internally and externally. Build effective relationships with third parties and create an effective team culture. Continuously improve and challenge marketing best practices and deliver a strong member experience.

Main duties:

Responsible for:
  • Social media vision and strategy
  • Social media campaign planning and publishing schedule
  • Production and posting of social content and creative. Application of brand guidelines / tone of voice
  • Day-to-day management of the social media budget (amplification, paid campaigns)
  • Vision and strategy for their member Community, including overseeing the roadmap for the community platform
  • Community events plan. Community administration and moderation (alongside Social & Community Coordinator)
  • Managing and developing the Social Media Coordinator to meet short and medium-term business plans
  • Oversight of Social Media Coordinator's remit. Technical training and learning & development for Social Media Coordinator
  • Demonstrating 'insatiable curiosity' about our members and product. Active Community contributor
  • Finding and using the right tools to produce and measure social media and Community
  • Monitor, listen and respond to users/members. Identify threats and opportunities surrounding the business
  • Social media and Community target setting, measurement, reporting and testing plan
  • Relationship with relevant suppliers, agencies, contributors and influencers
  • Identifying and reacting to developments and opportunities in social / Community management. Share trends, ideas and best practices
  • Effective cross-functional working within peer group. Ability to influence upwards
  • Leading and delivering ad hoc projects, as needed by the Head of Brand or Head of Marketing

Skills, knowledge and experience:
  • Graduate-level education
  • An excellent hands-on understanding of social media marketing
  • Experience of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube essential. LinkedIn and Pinterest experience desirable
  • Experience of working with Hootsuite Enterprise/Analytics, Canva/Photoshop, Facebook Manager (incl. Custom Audiences/Pixel retargeting) UTM tracking and Microsoft Office essential. Knowledge of social listening tools and community platforms (e.g. Discourse/Vanilla) desirable
  • Marketing experience in an online retail or DTC brand. Previous experience in the drinks industry would be advantageous, not essential
