We do this by providing a range of specialised support services that enable NHS Boards to focus their efforts on delivering health improvement and patient care.
The Finance Department provides a comprehensive range of accounting and reporting services to all NSS divisions. The Payroll Section provides an extensive Payroll service to the whole of NSS, NHS 24, NHS Healthcare Improvement Scotland and NHS National Education for Scotland.
Based at Gyle Square, Edinburgh, you will be responsible for managing a small team of Band 4 Payroll Officers. In addition, you will be responsible for checking all changes which impact pay on the payrolls for NSS and its third party customers, in accordance with strict deadlines, ensuring accurate payments are made to the employees and that a customer focus is maintained at all times. You will also be the main point of contact for one or more of NSS's third party customers.
Significant previous payroll experience within the NHS is essential for this role. Previous experience in a supervisory role is desirable. You will use your communication skills to deal with customers by telephone, e-mail and letter and must be able to work to tight deadlines. You will have good keyboard skills and, ideally have knowledge of MS Office packages and/or customer service, payroll or finance packages.
