We are a fast growing, profitable, branded fine food business with more than 10 years of strong and consistent year on year growth, aiming to become the world leader in Truffle Products. From our UK base in the Cotswolds, we manufacture a range of branded truffle products. We supply direct to consumers, and to food service and retail channels in all the major international marketplaces.

The Specification, Artwork and Labelling Technologist will work internally across all functions and externally with customers to assure, improve and sustain appropriate levels of Safety, Legality, Quality, and Functionality for raw materials and finished products.

Manage the label generation process from supplier raw material spec generation through to product launch. Accountabilities also include managing the on-site label printing and the system for issuing and reconciling printed packaging.

Develop a system to ensure right first-time label application in production.


+ Ensure raw material specification are accurate, up to date and approved prior to new product launches. Create a company specific template to ensure all required food safety information is captured.
+ Ensure raw material specification are reviewed at the appropriate frequency and ensure the matrix is maintained.
+ Ensure packaging specification are accurate, up to date and approved prior to new product launches. Manage and maintain the packaging specification matrix.
+ Approval all artwork in a timely manner.
+ Manage the onsite label printing process, ensuring these are produced in line with the production schedule.
+ Create and maintain a label coding system to ensure right first-time label application in production.
+ Write finished Product Specifications for all live SKUs and ensure these are reviewed at an appropriate frequency and ensure the Finished product specification matrix is maintained.
+ Provide sales support for any customer technical or labelling related queries.
+ Ensure all products comply with relevant labelling legislation in the country that they are exported to. Identify and report any issues relating to existing labels.
+ Produce paperwork packs and issue to production inline with the production schedule.
+ Participation in other specialist projects as required to support ongoing business development.

Skills and experience required:

+ Higher qualification in Food Science or Food Technology is desirable
+ 3 years+ experience in the food manufacturing industry in compliance/technical role
+ Experience of UK labelling legislation. Desirable – Knowledge of non-UK labelling legislation
+ Strong attention to detail, analytical risk-based approach.
+ Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
+ Team building: the ability to motivate others to deliver to the required standard.
+ Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to establish excellent working relationships with a variety of people
+ Strong organisational and IT skills

Remuneration package:

+ Salary: Competitive Salary
+ Bonus: Bonus based on company and individual performance
+ Holidays: 28 days per annum including bank holidays
+ Hours of work: 8.30- 5pm
+ Pension: Contributory pension scheme
