Do you want to make a difference to the future outcomes of Aberdeenshire's youngest children and families?

We are delighted to be recruiting two Principal Teachers (EY) to join our established Early Learning and Childcare team. We are looking for individuals who are highly motivated and dynamic and can work as part of our team to support local authority and funded provider settings across Aberdeenshire to ensure we deliver quality ELC provision and raise standards.

You will work collaboratively with Early Learning and Childcare staff and management teams across a designated area; promoting learning and teaching of the highest quality to maximise the attainment of all pupils. Progress the Authority's, schools' and partner providers' aims and targets as set out in the appropriate improvement plans.

You must have experience of working with early years children and their families and have an excellent knowledge of current national and local policies and procedures including 'Realising the Ambition' and 'The National Standards'.

To fulfil this role, you will require to hold current full driving licence and have a car available, whenever required, in order to undertake the full range of duties of the post.

Please note that one of the posts is permanent supporting the South of Aberdeenshire and the other is fixed term until 01 July 2022 supporting the North of Aberdeenshire.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

Salary for this post will be in accordance with SNCT agreements. Applicants must be or eligible to be fully GTC Scotland registered.

This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
