Neighbourhood Services Technical Officer (COVID Compliance)
Shared Regulatory Services (SRS) provides the Environmental Health, Trading Standards and Licensing functions across the Bridgend, Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan Council areas. An important area of work for SRS is its role in ensuring COVID compliance across the different business sectors and more recently, among travellers having to self-isolate after returning from amber list countries.
To assist with this work, secondment opportunities are being made available for BCBC staff to join SRS in this COVID Compliance role, for a period of 6 months. Full training and shadowing will be given and secondees will work as part of the COVID Joint Enforcement Team (JET), covering the Bridgend county borough. Secondees will be expected to work with colleagues to conduct checks on compliance out on site, but there will also be an element of agile / home working to ensure that the necessary records are up to date.
Given the nature of the role, excellent communication and people skills will be required and applicants will need to feel at ease when engaging with residents or businesses as appropriate, during the course of their work.
This post provides an ideal opportunity for a secondment. However, any applicant should seek the agreement and approval of the relevant line manager prior to applying to ensure that he/she be released from his/her substantive post and that it will be safeguarded for the duration of the secondment.
Closing Date: Tuesday 15 June 2021
