Our client encourages its Claims Handlers to play a very proactive role in bringing its clients' losses to a satisfactory conclusion. As such, you'll enjoy a heightened level of autonomy and authority, and an extremely varied role where no day is the same.
You'll be dealing with a broad range of commercial claims, and because this brokerage arranges the insurance for some hugely successful companies, you'll have exposure to some fascinating risks.
Day to day duties will include, but certainly not be limited to, obtaining any documentation or information requested by insurers, loss adjusters or solicitors, reviewing policy documents to ensure that cover is in place prior to setting claims up with insurers, and reviewing repudiated claims prior to communicating this to the client. In addition, you will maintain accurate records on the system, update files with correspondence received from insurers, loss adjusters, solicitors and clients, and communicate internally with other members of staff with regards to relevant insurance claims information required for renewals.
You must have experience of handling commercial insurance losses, and ideally, our client would like the successful candidate to have experience across a broad range of lines including Property, Liability and Motor. However, we still welcome applications from talented Claims Handlers from a single product line, who are keen to learn about other covers. Because this is a very 'involved' claims handling role, you must be assertive, and have the required personality to challenge insurers' decisions, as well as sometimes delivering difficult news to clients.

Whilst initially you will be required to work from the office until you get to understand processes and systems, as well as getting to know the team, after this, you will have the ability to work a great deal from home, if you so wish.
