Job Details

A leading housing association in London is looking to grow their data and insights team. You will be brought in to help turn data into information, information into insight, and insight into business decisions. You will do this by reviewing, managing, scheduling, and utilising data analysis and providing high quality and timely information, reports, and monitoring to support decision making, service planning, and performance monitoring.

Key duties

Participate in the creation of a data governance framework and rolling data maturity programme, including the systematic adoption of data standards (e.g. HACT)
Produce regular monitoring reports/dashboards incorporating performance and risk information for senior officer meetings, contract and partnership meetings, boards and committees
Identify potential performance challenges at an early stage and work with services, including contractors, to ensure causes are reviewed, wider implications are understood and actions are in place to tackle these
Monitor and progress data quality issues and plans with business colleagues e.g. data stewards through to resolution, including root cause analysis of data quality issues to help drive improvement to business processes, software products, etc. as appropriate to ensure data is correct at source
Provide assurance that all data / information provided to internal and external parties including regulators and auditors for area of accountability is provided in a secure manner and is accurate and complete
To obtain and update information and data and contribute to the maintenance and development of databases throughout the department
Develop and manage systems and processes for performance and reporting, including provision of advice, guidance material and training to relevant officers and contractors
Regularly review and initiate new ways of improving the collection and reporting of performance information via current systems, as well as any future solutions such as new software options
Support the specification of the definitions for metrics and KPIs working with the business teams and collaborate to ensure they support the monitoring and achievement of strategic objectives
Ensure actions from senior officer meetings, contract and partnership meetings, boards and committees are implemented through effective follow-up
A good understanding of database management including; MS Azure databases, and the development of; metadata, data models, Star Schemers etc.
Manage and support data cleansing / data migration activities including; the management of data pipelines,ETL/ELT processes used to structure and manage data through Azure data factory/lakes and warehouses.
Run, analyse and develop algorithms that transform raw data into actionable insights
Work with business owners / power users to shape and prioritise user stories backlog, and gain approval via the relevant forums, for the team to then deliver against in an agile/flow-based model
Support DPO activities to ensure handling of data is in line with, policy, regulation and GDPR legislation e.g. data protection, classification, retention, ethics and specification of role-based profiles
Develop train plans to support business users to self-serve and run their own information huddles
Work with continuous process improvement colleagues to understand what information could support these initiatives and plan for this via the roadmap
Communicate regularly with members of the team and wider service to ensure that opportunities for collaboration and knowledge sharing are maximised
To take a lead in external networks at local, regional and national levels on performance management and advice on improvement initiatives
Lead and contribute towards projects/work relating to: performance and risk management; research and data analysis, including benchmarking; quality of performance, risk data; business planning and reportingWhat do you need to apply for this role?

Knowledge of data regulations, compliance, privacy, and ethics
Experience in Python or R coding
Experience in SQL scripts for batch process automation, data exports/imports, validations and blending data from multiple systems into a data warehouse
Experience with Power BI dashboard reports
