JOB DESCRIPTION
Newton Day is a brand marketing and consulting business, and we're passionate and proud about what we do to drive the success of our stable of client brands. The website development technician designs, develops, tests and publishes new web pages and web sites in compliance with industry standards. Ensures that websites are stable, well designed, effective to use, up-to-date, and properly maintained. Strong communication skills are a must. Duties include installing and maintaining websites, their value and performance. We're looking for a highly organized go getter to play a key role in our web team; someone who can collaborate with sales and marketing colleagues. We serve technology companies and help them to make their mark while protecting their brand.

Duties:
  • Reviewing and performance-testing websites
  • Maintaining plugins and versions
  • Optimizing performance
  • Troubleshooting performance issues
  • Proposing and implementing solutions to website malfunctions
  • Monitoring and maintaining website system security
  • Providing technical support
  • Auditing and editing company websites
  • Backing-up web servers and providing recovery options
  • Reporting on performance


WHO FITS THE BILL
  • Experience of working in a small team
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar field is ideal but not essential
  • Some previous experience working on websites
  • Knowledge of programming languages including HTML, Perl, and JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of web tools
  • A curious mind able to troubleshoot issues
  • Good communication skills
  • Self-starter able to demonstrate a passion for the subject
