SS&C Leading cloud-based provider of financial services technology solutions has a Data Operations team which is responsible for acquisition, enrichment, and delivery of financial intermediary data for asset management firms on a global basis.
The data we maintain is leveraged by more than 200 firms on a daily basis. Data Stewards are responsible for developing and maintaining a high level of industry knowledge. This includes a strong understanding of asset managers, how they do business, and third-party distribution across the UK .
They also are required to demonstrate the ability to build relationships internally, with clients, and with financial intermediary firms. In addition, Data Stewards must have solid understanding of data quality concepts, a high level understanding of data structures and SQL, and the ability to learn about our systems and support model to provide exceptional customer experiences.
We are expanding our Data Operations team to include a UK based person to lead on work for the UK distribution landscape. Demonstrating an understanding of the different types of IFA firms, the role of intermediaries and how asset managers distribute their fund products through the UK advised channels, the role of the FCA Register, the impact of affiliations and networks for advice firms.
The individual will demonstrate knowledge of this line of business and the markets SS&C serves. They will understand business processes, internal systems/applications, software tools, customers' business, and have customer relationship skills. They will perform activities in support of new lines of business, business process improvements, risk reduction or cost savings initiatives, best practice identification, etc.
They will provide daily and ad hoc customer support, develop documentation, and complete audits. They accept escalated issues and work on problems of a moderate scope; analyzes root cause, understands the impact and scope of the problem, and applies judgment within defined practices to determine the appropriate action. Participates in the initiation, requirements, design, testing, setup/conversion, and post-implementation support phases of a project.
This position has a dual reporting line, primarily to the UK Distribution Intelligence team head, and also to the Sales Connect head based in the US. The candidate must be comfortable working in such a role, with local priorities with UK clients and at the same time fitting with US standards and processes as SS&C operates a single global product to customers.
