Gates (U.K) Ltd are looking for a:

Service Engineer

Gates (U.K.) Ltd is a major international company and leading manufacturer of application-specific Fluid Power and Power Transmission solutions. Our continuing success has resulted in the following challenging opportunity.

Reporting directly to the Regional Sales Manager, you will be home based and responsible for:

  • Service self-assembly machinery
  • Provide in-house and on-site courses on the use of self-assembly and Safe Hydraulics Training
  • Provide the SAM program support; including commissioning training, certifying operations, intervention of warning preventative maintenance as well as breakdown services
  • Manage a service contract program with the UK and Europe
  • Manage customer activities via our CRM system
  • Help to manage our Hose Assemblies Operation machineries in our UK/European sites



Required Experience:


  • Fitting skills (mechanical & electrical)
  • Gates product knowledge preferred



Required Skills:


  • Professional qualification in Engineering e.g. BTEC Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering. HNC/HND preferred
  • Proven organizational skills, as must be able to organize patching of workload to ensure maximum efficiency in delivering servicing of machinery
  • Ability to adapt to changes in workload prioritization, in order to provide excellent service to end users
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to travel; variable working hours and extensive travel in the UK and Europe, as required
