Public sector organisation based in Edinburgh are currently recruiting a Procurement Officer on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an adaptable procurement professional to join a small procurement team where they can be involved in shaping the function.
Your new role
Working closely with the Procurement Manager, you will deliver a wide ranging procurement service to the organisation. You will manage the end to end procurement of goods, services and works ensuring compliance with policies, procedures and relevant procurement legislation. You will maintain the contracts register, manage procurement activity using Public Contract Scotland (PCS) an ensure a documented and auditable trail of procurement activity is maintained. You will also analyse spend to identify opportunities to increase value for money or service improvement via procurement.
Procurement activity will typically be below OJEU threshold and will cover a diverse spend portfolio.
What you'll need to succeed
Experience of public sector procurement and a proven track record of delivering value for money is required for this role. You will also require strong communication skills with the ability to influence and engage key stakeholders and negotiate with suppliers.
This role is most suited to an individual looking to work within a small procurement team with a wide remit who is able to adapt to changing business requirements.
What you'll get in return
You will be paid an annual salary of 34,000 - 37,000 (depending on experience). You will work 35 hours per week, with flexible working options (core hours: 10am - 12pm / 2pm - 3.30pm), and will have the opportunity to work from home or the office (if preferred).
