Contract: Long term with the possibility of going permanent (inside IR35)
Assisting in establishing a team to deliver the services which will consist of site-based designer's representatives as well as office based support
Construction support consists of;
Responding to TQ's / RFI's / EWN's for structural and associated assets.
Reviewing of Temporary Works structural related designs (only where it impacts permanent works) for integration with the permanent works design of structures
Reviewing and acceptance of permanent works materials for structures
Reviewing of fabrication details for integration with the permanent works of structures
Producing As-built records of structures assets
Contributing to Quarterly Reports
Liaising with head office designers for answering major technical queries.
Ensuring Health & Safety within the JV organisation.
Monitoring and supporting the Site Support Team to ensure that client is receiving the contracted-for services
Maintaining consistency, coordinating with other sections' support engineers
Liaising with the CSS Manager the resource requirements to align with construction activities
Meeting time-frame and quality targets, meeting or exceeding client expectations.
Responding to inquiries of the contractor JV, e.g., TQs, RFIs, EWN etc. for structural issues.
Reviewing construction Products and Materials Approvals Form for structures (PMAFs)
Review and assist in responding to Field Change Requests (FCR)
Reviewing of fabrication details, shop drawings for structures
Review JV's Temporary works design (only where it impacts permanent works)
Reporting of monitoring, testing etc results and preparing reports
Producing As-built Drawings for structural assets
Contributing to the Quarterly Reports as required by the Contract Scope
BSc/BEng with an emphasis in structural engineering
Minimum 5 years relevant experience on Design and Build projects dealing with structural (including viaducts, tunnels and bridges) issues and resolving them, preferably on rail projects or other linear projects of similar nature.
Demonstrated proficiency in the English language, both speaking and writing
Chartered status preferred.
