Job Details

Daily Duties will include the following:

  • Check auto post journal batch jobs when journals are approved but fail to post due to journals not being checked for mistakes prior to approval.
  • Create new ad hoc financial reports for users.
  • Create delegations for workflow approval users when they go on annual leave and have forgotten to do so themselves.
  • Update position hierarchy when there are leavers so that existing users are reporting to the correct employee.
  • Disable users when informed users have left the business and check they have not created any recurring batch jobs where the user is set to run those batch jobs as well.
  • Mark financial dimensions such as cost centres as suspended to restrict users from posting to these financial dimensions in journals.
  • Update Journal approval workflows.
  • Reassign workflow approvers during UAT testing.
  • Monitor and track D365 performance issues and Raise Microsoft support ticket when there are performance issues.
  • Import users into D365 who require access to Depot Intelligence Reports (this is a set of Financial Reports with associated security - all these users have a D365 Teams license for Read Only access) and assign the relevant depot intelligence role to the user.
  • Assign the new user to the relevant depot intelligence reporting tree unit security to restrict access to depots.
  • Raise IT support tickets so that the D365 Depot Intelligence Report User has a D365 Team Member licence assigned.
  • If a D365 Depot Intelligence Reports user leaves the business raise an IT support ticket to ensure the D365 Team Member licence that was assigned to them is deallocated.
  • Create worker records for new D365 users where they don't exist already and assign to the new user record.
  • Get approval for the creation of the user prior to creating the user in D365.
  • Update change log on SharePoint with details of new D365 users/access changes/any D365 change and attach approval e-mail/testing confirmation - this is an audit requirement.
  • Get approval to add Incremental users to D365 UAT, LCS, DevOps etc and then raise IT support ticket to get them added to Guest AD Group first.
  • Pause D365 version updates as and when necessary in LCS.
  • Investigate and resolve MT940 bank statement import issues for users.
  • Update compliance document at the beginning of each month on SharePoint and ensure users who have left the business are disabled in D365.
  • Checking the Remittance SharePoint site to make sure any remittance files which haven't been cleared down are cleared down by Accounts Payable Team. This is a PowerApps function that generates emails with remittance details
  • Resolve any D365 issues raised by our user base
  • Assist with any user needing training


Responsibility :

  • Resolve any D365 issues raised by our user base - this requires an excellent level of D365 Finance knowledge (GL, AR, AP, Banking) with excellent spoken and written communication skills and an understanding of how to record requirements, research issues, raise tickets with Microsoft and work within the wider D365 environment (LCS, DevOps etc). Typical issues that may arise include:
  • Check auto post journal batch jobs when journals are approved but fail to post due to journals not being checked for mistakes prior to approval.
  • The candidate must understand where to find the failed batch, be able to interpret the error and liaise with the user on how they need to fix the problem
  • Create delegations for workflow approval users when they go on annual leave and have forgotten to do so themselves.
  • Must understand workflows and how they work as well as how to delegate them to appropriate users
  • Update Journal approval workflows.
  • Reassign workflow approvers during UAT testing.
  • Create worker records for new D365 users where they don't exist already and assign to the new user record.
  • Disable users when informed users have left the business and check they have not created any recurring batch jobs where the user is set to run those batch jobs as well.

  • Must understand the employee setup including positions, hierarchies and security
  • Mark financial dimensions such as cost centres as suspended to restrict users from posting to these financial dimensions in journals.
  • Monitor and track D365 performance issues and Raise Microsoft support ticket when there are performance issues.
  • Investigate and resolve MT940 bank statement import issues for users.
  • Create new ad hoc financial reports for users.
  • Must have an excellent knowledge of the Financial Report Designer function
  • Must understand how to translate the users requirements to actionable report designs
  • Depot Intelligence - This is a suite of reports designed within the Finance Report Designer and accessed by our wider user base. It is underpinned with a security model (reporting tree unit security) so that users see only the data they should. We also have specific security roles for users of Depot Intelligence. We assign D365 Teams licences to the Depot Intelligence users as this is a read-only requirement
  • Create users in D365 who require access to Depot Intelligence Reports and assign the relevant depot intelligence role to the user (after appropriate approval).
  • Assign the new user to the relevant depot intelligence reporting tree unit security to restrict access to depots.
  • Raise IT support tickets so that the D365 Depot Intelligence Report User has a D365 Team Member licence assigned.
  • If a D365 Depot Intelligence user leaves the business raise an IT support ticket to ensure the D365 Team Member licence that was assigned to them is deallocated.
  • Compliance - we have a strong audit requirement and must document any change made to D365 including written approval. This is captured within SharePoint. Typical compliance needs are:
  • Get written approval for the creation of the user prior to creating the user in D365.
  • Update the change log on SharePoint with details of new D365 users/access changes/any D365 change and attach approval e-mail/testing confirmation
  • Get approval to add Incremental (our current partner) users to D365 UAT, LCS, DevOps etc and then raise IT support ticket to get them added to Guest AD Group first.
  • Update compliance document at the beginning of each month on SharePoint and ensure users who have left the business are disabled in D365.
  • Ongoing Maintenance - these are tasks that are continually monitored to ensure the environment is healthy and be proactive with addressing issues. Typical things that are included are:
  • Check the daily imports to ensure they have run successfully
  • Checking the Remittance SharePoint site to make sure any remittance files which haven't been cleared down are cleared down by Accounts Payable Team.
  • This is a PowerApps function that generates emails with remittance details
  • Manage the D365 version updates
  • This is a full cycle so - review release notes, ascertain which apply to our environment, communicate the changes to our users, arrange testing, complete sign off process and follow update through to its conclusion
  • We are implementing test scripts so knowledge of how to create/run and manage test scripts is important
  • The candidate may be involved in one or more aspects of the release
  • Pause D365 version updates as and when necessary in LCS.
  • Manually run D365 version updates if we are unable to take the automated update
  • Assist with any user needing training
