Smile Leadership Ltd are currently seeking a dedicated Head of Professional Development for a Leicestershire based Alternative Provision (LE12 9YE). This job role is offered on a full-time, permanent basis to start from September 2021 however an earlier job start date could be negotiated for the right candidate. If you are an experienced Lead on Professional Development who has led within a SEN or mainstream secondary setting and are either local to or available to travel to the Loughborough, Leicestershire area we would like to hear from you. Smile Leadership Ltd is a sister company to Smile Education who are a leading education recruitment agency and we are working on this post in an exclusive partnership with the Alternative Provider of Learning.
The settings offer one to one, small group and vocational courses delivered across 4 schools and a host of hubs in the East Midlands. Typically, class sizes range from 10-12, with around 50 pupils on role. They cater for a range of ages from KS2 to post 16. They take a holistic and precise approach to their learners' needs. Building a team around each child in their care, they work collaboratively with each stakeholder to effect change. Each programme is evaluated for impact and managed against the specification agreed with the commissioning body. They have developed many leadingedge systems and processes for working with children and young people across a wide range of facilities and community venues.
Reporting to the Head of School, key responsibilities of the Head of Personnel Development job include:
Determine the strategic direction and business development of the personal development
Work with the Senior Leadership Team and Governors to develop and implement school vision
provide and contribute to reports with analysis and develop plans
Ensuring that all learners access high quality personal development programmes
Leading and managing staff
Report on and account for the school's efficiency with respect to learner personal development
Coordinate and manage a caseload of learners
To be successful in your Head of Personal Development application, you must have the following:
Have a minimum of 3 Years School leadership experience
Hold a degree level qualification with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience of designing and developing personal development Programmes
Evidence of leading and sustaining education initiatives
Have led and supervising staff and monitoring performance
