A unique opportunity for an experienced Construction Manager / Land Surveyor to manage a team of Surveyor Instructors and join a long established and developing construction training organisation, MKC Training, based at The Royal School of Military Engineering in Chatham, Kent.

This would suit either an experienced education manager (with a background in surveying) or a qualified (or) time-served surveyor, with team management experience gained from construction sites / projects, who is interested in moving into an education / training environment.

You will have strong communication skills, want to develop and manage others, and be prepared to extend your own skills and knowledge. Teaching experience is highly desirable but not essential as teacher training will be provided for the right candidate moving from industry.

You will demonstrate the aptitude and ability to develop and refine training systems and courses to bespoke requirements.

Job Purpose:

To support the Faculty Manager by managing and leading the Programme Area to deliver training and support outputs and key performance indicators.

To assist the Faculty Manager in the operational running of the programme area, supporting the strategic development of the area and taking responsibility for the Performance Development Reviews (PDR) of staff in their area.

To deliver training within the Programme Area as required.

To engage in continual improvement activities aimed at developing the quality and content of the training and training materials relevant to course programmes.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

Relevant qualification in land surveying or substantial surveying experience

Teaching qualification or willingness to study for one (support provided)
Assessment Qualification (A1 or equivalent - to be gained in post, as applicable)

Quality Assurance Qualification (V1 or equivalent - to be gained in post, as applicable)

Management of small teams Line Management experience

Experience in mentoring new staff

Ability to motivate and encourage students

Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office Applications

Experience in course tutoring / delivering training, supporting and coaching

Knowledge & experience of quality assurance & improvement

Ability to promote safeguarding and welfare of young people that you are responsible for, or come into contact with

Desirable Experience:

Relevant professional qualification/membership

Experience in teaching land surveying

Experience in course development

Knowledge & experience of e-learning and e-assessment tools
