We are seeking individuals to join our Investment Services & Technology (InvesTech) Associate Programme. The programme is an exciting pathway into our firm for those who are interested in the variety of career opportunities available in the investment management industry. This programme will help you gain insight into our industry, firm and culture, as well as knowledge of the many different business divisions that support our investment functions. Successful candidates are likely to be graduates or those with experience that demonstrates an interest in building a career in financial operations and technology.

The InvesTech Group brings technology and operations department together to deliver better, more efficient outcomes for our clients and business partners. InvesTech is comprised of Investment Implementation, Infrastructure Design, Client Operations, and Technology departments.

Successful candidates will specialize in either of the areas below (responsibilities may include, but are not limited to):

Systems Analyst

•Engage with business users such as investors, traders, or client relations to assess needs, understand workflows, and propose solutions

•Create functional specifications and user requirement documents that outline enhancements, defect fixes, and integrate with existing system architecture

•Partner with development teams to build solutions and participate in testing efforts

•Ensure user acceptance by leading training sessions and gathering continuous feedback

Software Engineer

•Build application functionality, leveraging implementation patterns and open source solutions where appropriate

•Work closely with business users and analysts to review strategic business solutions

•Determine impact to servers, network and storage capacity, and throughput in conjunction with infrastructure delivery teams

Quality Assurance Analyst

•Collaborate with Systems Analysts to define test strategy, detailed test plans, and use and test cases

•Ensure requirements traceability throughout the systems development lifecycle

•Understand QA processes and systems development lifecycle methodologies

•Leverage various testing approaches and work closely with engineers to review functional correctness and usability

Security Analyst

•Triage reports, data feeds, dashboards, and other indicators to identify anomalies that may warrant further investigation

•Assist in active cyber-attack investigations

•Gather and analyze data through SIEM-like log aggregation tool, performing independent analysis to look for indications of compromise or exposure

•Interface with technical and non-technical users to conduct fact-finding interviews, gather forensic artifacts and understand business processes

•Provide root cause analysis and suggestions based on investigative findings to prevent reoccurrence

•Participate in global, follow the sun on-call rotation for escalated security events

•Identify opportunities to improve the firm's security posture by assessing risk for internal and external systems and processes

•Stay current with security news, such as high-profile data breaches and newly published vulnerabilities, to distribute awareness communication and implement proactive security controls as appropriate


The successful candidates are likely to have:
  • Skills or experiences which demonstrate an interest in an IT or finance career and have or be studying towards a Bachelor's degree
  • The ability to be a self-starter and have the humility and willingness to learn from, and collaborate with, their colleagues
  • Outstanding interpersonal and organisational skills, resourceful, detail-oriented, and a strong work ethic
  • The ability to work independently, in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment, where priorities change frequently
