Job Details

The Imminent Risk team seeks to identify and prioritize imminent risks to Facebook and its users. We identify trends from external industry events and track key public affairs issues to evaluate risks, deliver action-oriented assessments to mitigate risk and provide critical insights to our internal partners. Were seeking a strong problem-solver who can drive across a number of risk vectors, manage multiple internal stakeholders, balance differing opinions and perspectives, and weigh risks in order to provide effective operational mitigation strategies as they relate to risks across Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa (EMEA). Successful candidates will be excellent communicators who can articulate complex issues clearly in writing and verbally, in a multi-tasking and fast paced environment. Candidates must be able to make difficult decisions under pressure, use critical thinking skills and demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills to organize and build relationships with teams across the company.

Imminent Risk Project Manager, EMEA Responsibilities
  • Drive risk analysis, strategy, and mitigation as it relates to EMEA integrity issues across product, policy and enforcement
  • Leverage critical and adversarial thinking to effectively prioritize a variety of known and unknown potential risk vectors
  • Develop & coordinate the cross-functional preparation and response efforts to address imminent threats on the Facebook family of apps
  • Serve as team liaison to key local XFNs and partner closely with internal stakeholders around EMEA issues, including Strategic Response, Public Policy and Comms, identifying clear roles and responsibilities, and creating accountability across contributors to achieve goals mentioned above
  • Effectively educate and influence leaders and partners on the risk landscape to gain alignment and establish consensus
  • Utilize internal resources and tools to understand content risk and inform how they can best contribute to risk mitigation execution strategies

    Minimum Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree
    • 6+ years work experience in program/project management, consulting, investigations, online ads, public policy, press management, internet safety and political campaigning/consulting in public policy, legal, political science, risk management, or related discipline
    • Strategic thinker with analytical problem-solving skills
    • Working knowledge of policy issues affecting technology companies
    • Effective at consensus-building, and communicating with internal and external audiences
    • Leadership and interpersonal skills with a proven track record of building relationships with cross-functional teams
    • Experience communicating to a variety of audiences, including Engineers, Data Scientists, Product Managers, Public Policy Directors, and other leadership

      Preferred Qualifications
      • Advanced-level Degree
      • Experience in coaching, mentoring, or management
      • Experience in Crisis Management
      • 2+ years of work experience or knowledge in international internet/social media issues
