Construction Assessors - Brickwork
Dumfries | 15.75 hours per week | Part Time | 12 months, fixed term | Salary £23,464.07 to £25,723.44 pro rata
What's the Job?
This role will assess apprentices working on Construction Modern Apprenticeship. The candidates will be working with a local employer and the objective of the assessment process is to demonstrate the candidate is occupationally competent, based on the National Occupational Standards. This will involve planning assessments with candidates and their employers, conducting the assessments, which are likely to involve direct observation of the candidate in the workplace and providing feedback on the assessment. The documentation and assessment decisions are recorded in a portfolio of evidence.
Success will involve delivering high-quality qualifications with a high achievement rate and positive feedback. Currently there are over 100 apprentices across the different disciplines.

Occasional work required to be undertaken remotely or at different locations from above such as business premises of our partners, or our Stranraer Campus.
Salary £23,464.07 to £25,723.44 pro rata

What we're looking for
We are looking for a person who has the relevant qualifications and experience, that is enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge and experience and enjoy mentoring and supporting candidates to be the best they can be.
We are looking for an individual who is good team member and capable of working alone. Communication skills are key to the success of this role. The ability to develop a relationship with the candidates, employers and within the team is essential.
You should also have:
· Relevant industry qualifications and experience
· Excellent IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office and Teams
· Good time management skills
· Good organisational skills
· Sound attention to detail
· Experience of supporting and mentoring trainees / apprentices
